Some bands spend years planning their debut. New Moon came together in just a few weeks.

In late April 2025, Derek and Billy—former members of the San Antonio classic rock band 'Nough Sayed—began casually jamming with Billy's childhood friend, Taylor, on drums. When their previous band unexpectedly dissolved despite having a full slate of upcoming shows, the opportunity suddenly became very real.

Joe and Theresa, also former 'Nough Sayed members, quickly joined the rehearsals, and before long a venue in Gruene needed a band for its Memorial Day celebration. The answer was simple: "We're in." There was just one small detail...

They didn't have a band name.

A few rehearsals later, after hours of working through songs and sharing a couple of well-earned beers at That Place on Blanco, the group looked up to see a brilliant new moon hanging over the Texas sky. Maybe it was coincidence. Maybe it was fate. Either way, the name stuck.

That first show was everything a debut should be—high energy, a little rough around the edges, and unforgettable. The dance floor stayed packed all night, the bartenders were dancing behind the bar, and the venue owner affectionately dubbed the band their "Secret Weapon." Before the night was over, New Moon had earned repeat bookings for the year ahead.

As the band continued to grow, the lineup naturally evolved. Veteran drummer Bob stepped behind the kit in July 2025, seamlessly fitting in after learning nearly twenty songs in just three weeks. Exceptional guitarist Greg joined later that year and instantly felt like he'd been part of the band from the beginning. Multi-instrumentalist John expanded the band's sound with keyboards, horns, percussion, and whatever instrument the moment called for. In June 2026, powerhouse vocalist Robin completed the lineup, bringing dynamic stage presence and vocal versatility that elevated New Moon to a new level.

Today, New Moon is more than a cover band. We're six seasoned musicians who share one goal: delivering an unforgettable live show. From classic rock anthems and country favorites to modern hits and dance-floor staples, every performance is built around great musicianship, powerful vocals, and keeping the crowd engaged from the first song to the last encore.
